It’s the start of school! Bring back the books, the lectures, the.. – wait, hold up – my mistake.
Bring back the FOOTBALL!
One of the most beloved parts of college for many is the chance to gather with friends to cheer on their sports teams. Each victory brings a sense of pride and camaraderie to a school, an intrinsic feeling of joy that cannot be matched.
Let us not forget one important part of the game, however:
The TAILGATE!
We recently asked Stumblers to put together their best dinner party based on recipes and ideas they Stumbled – now we’re adding the college twist. We’re inviting our collegiate Stumblers to Stumble upon the best tailgate ideas (recipes, decor, music, etc.), pull them together in one awesome tailgate party and SmarticUpon will pay for your tailgate*!
I gathered some of my fellow twenty-something year-old Stumblers who could still remember our vibrant campuses, late night study (cough, Smartic, cough) sessions, and nap-friendly schedules to Stumble our own tailgate and celebrate the return of collegiate football season.
Smartic Mccallwood10, Croweboarder, alpalz, and myself Stumbled the Food/CookingInterest along with the Tailgate Interest in the Explore Box to find some amazing recipes. We got to work in the kitchen, inviting over friends and watching everyone’s favorite teams and games on TV throughout the day.
We ended up on Stumbling onto tailgate collections like Tailgating Ideas and Tailgating Recipes and Emeril’s Green Team Tailgate to find some fresh recipes and ideas.
– Our final picks featured sides of a Southwestern Slaw, Corn on the Cob with Herb Butter and BBQ Butter, Guacamole and a fancy twist with Bruschetta with Fava Beans.
– We fired up the grill to make main bites of Grilled Chicken and Peach Kabobs and Ginger Shrimp Skewers (drool).
– To quench our thirst we had the Ultimate Strawberry Lemonade made with wholelemons. Seems crazy, but gave it a great texture and taste!
– And for dessert Croweboarder Stumbled the night before and made some awesome Oatmeal Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Cookies to provide a sweet end to our meal.
